retriving TLV when the user replies to SMS

Hello,
Firstly, thanks for developing this very useful library. I just started working on Mobile applications and have a few questions on how I can do the same.
My application needs to send an SMS and perform certain actions based on the user's reply. I am planning to store some custom information in the TLV block of the SMS. When the user replies to my message, will I obtain the information I stored in the TLV in an intact manner.
If no, is there any other way I can store and retrieve the same.
